HERE SHE IS!!! 4 weeks 6 days early of course! So here's the story folks:
I noticed so strong pains on Wednesday night but chalked it up to being just more Braxton Hicks. As the night went on I continued to feel them. I even had a dream early that night that I was in labor but nobody would listen to me and sent me home from the hospital. Well, I woke up at 3 am and noticed that I was bleeding and thought, "okay, this will convince them." So we went into the hospital and sure enough I was in labor. Dialated to 1 and 75% effaced. Sent home with some "T" meds that helped the contractions to slow down.
Saw Dr. Novak the next day at 1:30pm and was dialted to 3! Yep, she was coming! Checked again at 5 and was dialated to 4. So Dr. Novak made the call into St. Elizabetha Hospital to have us accepted there since the Seward Hospital won't deliver before 36 weeks.
After the sad news that she was breech and we would need a C-Section there were many tears shed. I think Jeremy was only disappointed because he wanted to try out the whirlpool in the delivery room!! 30 minutes later we headed into the OR. I had to quickly "let go and let God." And I am thankful I did. God has blessed us with a very healthy little angel!! I call her my little tree frog because she was breech and tends to take the position with her feet up like a frog. She was born at 8:38 pm on Thursday, July 30. 5 lbs 8.2 oz, 17 in long!

Here we are learning to take a syringe of "liquid gold" since she was too tired to latch on this feeding.

I recieved an issue of Martha Stewart Living a while back and have been eyeing her recipe for blueberry pancakes ever since. Since my time in the mornings is very limited I "tweeked" her recipe. 1 pkg pancake mix & 1 pint fresh blueberrys. See how easy that was Martha!! Oh my they are so good. I had never had blueberry pancakes before and now they are my new favorite. So hot and sweet. When you hit a blueberry it bursts in your mouth. Why did I wait so long to try blueberry pancakes?!

Well, Baby Libby finally turned! She is no longer breech. Now let's just pray she stays that way. It was such a huge relief when my doctor said that she had turned head down. I did a lot of "tricks" to help encourage her to get in the right position but who knows if they actually helped. I tried laying upside down, standing on my hands in a swimming pool, diving into the pool (not a pretty sight) and reading my books or magazine on hands and knees. I really think it was God whispering in her ear!

Today marks 32 weeks!!

Only 8 weeks left and I am quickly realizing that our lives are going to change drasticly very soon. Jeremy and I will soon be at the end of one journey, couplehood, and on to the next, parenthood. I have loved the last 6 years we have spent together as a couple and (never thought I would say this) I will miss "just us". Dear Jeremy, you are the best cowboy, friend and husband I could ever dream of. Here is to the next era in our lives. Cowboy Up!!

Last night I got the urge to create something for the little cowgirl in my belly. I gathered my supplies and sat down at the sewing machine to make a couple of projects. The first is a little onesie with a little ruffle on the butt and a patch on the front. When washed, the edges will fray and look more "retro".

And the second project is this little dress. I just love this cowgirl boot material! I can't wait to match this dress with the little boots my Mom gave me! Giddy Up!!

I am doggysitting "Alvin", previously known as "Tux", this week. He is such a ball of energy and is great for getting Sylas to play with him. Above he is shown playing with his favorite toy on his favorite doggy bed!

Here Alvin met my horse Bucky. Lots of smelling going on to figure each other out.

Brown too has a play date with Alvin. After a while Alvin had Brown wrapped around his little paw. Brown always plays nice with littler dogs, such a good boy!

Having family and friends that live in the suburbs I thought I would expose them to a peice of my life in rural Nebraska. "Bull Cutting", as my husband Jeremy refers to it, is when a bull gets castrated so as not to breed the heifers. Here is how it all went down! First the guys round up the cattle (with the help of "Hulie" the cow dog) into the roping chute. Next the team ropers rope the bull to the ground. As the wranglers, 3-4 young men, sit on the bull the "vet" or experienced cowboy surgicaly removes the "rocky mountain oysters".

Here is John O'Kiefe removing one of the nuggets! We save the treasures and cook them up fried chicken style. There are no pics of this because I was the one in the kitchen!

This ol geezer is the funniest cowboy I've ever met. His name is Cliff and he can sure tell stories. He was the one making sure all went the right way according to tradition.

Here is Cody and Bob roping a bull. It was a fun day and everyone tasted the fruit of their harvest, with a little salt and mustard!

Thanks Jeremy for such a "ranchy" experience! You are by far the cutest cowboy ever!

Dusting Off The Brushes

Here is my latest. I did a painting for my friend Rachelle after a painting she saw on Pier 1's website. Instead of paying $400 I did it for her in trade of massages, ooooh I can't wait!! She is going to put it in her massage studio today!

The painting is on two separate canvases that will go on two walls where they meet at a 90 degree angle. I am excited to see them in their place.

Heart of a Horse

This is my favorite horse of all time, "Bucky". I am a little sad because he is on the Spring Sale this April at the Pitzer Ranch. I hate to see him go.
One of my favorite stories that portrays his unique personality is the time he took care of me. Sounds crazy but here is the story. Two summers ago I had a horrible case of vertigo. Vertigo is when the little crystals in your inner ear that help you keep your balance get out of place. You are dizzy and cannot focus 24/7. I would never wish this on anyone. Well, I was home in bed that day because I couldn't do anything else and Jeremy called and said he couldn't get off work to meet the horse farrier because Bucky needed new shoes.
It was dreadfully hot day and I could hardly walk due to such severe dizziness. But I had to do it. So I drove out to the pasture, about 5 miles away, but I don't even remember how I got there. I got out of my car and had to sit a while before walking out to the pasture. Finally I started on my way, taking severl breaks to sit down and try to catch my balance. Finally after about 3/4 mile of walking I reached Bucky. I put the halter on him but couldn't for the life of me get stable enough to walk. I started crying because I felt so helpless and miserable and had no idea how I would ever make it back to the arena where the farrier was to meet us.
Most "horse people" know that you never jump on a horses back without two things, a quick warm up to get out excess energy and a saddle. I had neither! I found an old tree stump and used it to hoist myself up on Bucky bareback. I just layed down on his back, closed my eyes and gave him a hug in hopes he would return the favor and not buck me off. This is where he won my heart.
I didn't even give him a nudge, he just started walking at his slowest pace right for the arena. I know that he could sense that I didn't feel good and he just took care of me. The whole way back to the arena I never had to use any commands to guide him where to go. I truely belive that God was with us and guided Bucky safely back with me on his back. Ever since then he has looked me straight in the eyes and we have had a supernatural connection. I know I will never have this again with another horse as long as I live.

Last night after a hot bowl of Shrimp & Corn Chowder - thanks Hungry Girl- Dad, Jocelyne, Jeremy and I all went downtown to The Gallery for a game of pool.

After supper and entertainment we came home and watched a little of the NFR (Nat'l Finals Rodeo). Lily and I cuddled up on the couch for some bonding time!

Wednesday, November 26th, Jentry would have been THREE!! I am missing her this week as I would have been planning a 3rd birthday. As I type this tears are welling up in my eyes and my heart continues to break. However, I am also overwhelmed with JOY & PEACE knowing that she is sitting on God's lap with a BIG smile on her perfect face. I will see her someday when God chooses to bring me home. Poor Mamma Sylas! She is so uncomfortable. I am still anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first litter. Last night at Weight Watchers I received my 25lb reward. I have lost a total of 28.6lbs. Thank You Jesus!! So instead of putting this little washer-like object in my pocket along with all the lint, I decided to make a necklace as a constant reminder. Hard work but rewarding!

Here is my attempt at making coasters. Leah Daehling, an artist friend of mine(check out www.moxiephotoanddesign.blogspot.com), has a sister-in-law that sells coasters. I bought one at a craft show and decided to try it. I desperately wanted to dissect the art piece, but I know better! So I got out my scraps and went to work. They are not near as neat as their inspiration piece, but at least I tried.

CAUTION! HANDY WOMAN AT WORK! HARD HATS REQUIRED! That is a whelping box for all of you that were wondering! My dog, Sylas, is due to have pups around Nov 21st so I had to make a safe place for her to have them. Thus the whelping box! I called good ol' Dad for advice before starting this project. He is a master woodworker and has whelped many litters of pups. I went to Lincoln and made the poor Lowes employee sweat just cutting my wood, I think that was the most work he had done all day. Then I borrowed a power drill from my friend Rachelle, shout out to the handy sister, and started woodworking. Oh it was so much fun. Now I know why men build things, it gives you a sense of accomplishment! It also made me feel like a good dog owner for providing for my favorite dog, Sylas! The box is not quite finished because I did miscalculate by 2 inches on two boards. Jeremy, my husband, is going to have them cut for me today so he can say that he helped. Sorry honey, we all know you are not the handy one, but we love you anyway!!

Jeremy and I took a quick trip to Mt. Rushmore. We had to deliver a truck to a customer in Rapid City so we made a vacation out of it. I was surprised at how small they were. I really thought they were big but not as big as I had imagined. Crazy huh?

So I was out mowing the lawn the other afternoon and came upon a big bull snake. This is the second one we have seen since moving in 2 years ago. Anyway, the snake was on its way to climb up some old siding on our house and I thought, "Oh no you don't, you evil serpent". So I took a cinder block and through it on him hard. Didn't even hurt him, but it did make him mad. He started hissing at me an charging me. So I ran around the house to get my garden hoe. I chopped like a mad woman until I beat its head to a bloddy pulp. HHHEEE HHEEE HHHEEEE, who is evil now!!!!!

For Father's Day, Jeremy and I came down to Sabetha to spend some time with good ol Dad. We ended up having way more fun than expected! First we drove to Troy, KS and did a clay pigeon course. I shot 100%l, then again I only shot at 2!! Jeremy, ah not so good, sorry Cowboy. Dad did awesome but he has the course mastered from experience, plus he is an awesome shot. Jocelyne and I kept score and took pictures. It was really beautiful here and I can't wait to do it again.
Then we went to St. Joe and had the most amazing Mexican Food, even though they were out of flan, argh! You think the night is over, wrong. Then we went and shot a round up put-put golf. I think Dad or Jeremy won, Jocelyne did pretty good too, but I sucked!

So her is a pic of the goose that shit on me. I was cleaning the yard one day and heard some geese overhead migrating back north. I thought it was so nice of God to give me this "nature experiance" and decided to lay on the trailer and watch them for a while. About 30 seconds into it I felt a THWAP. I looked over and here on my shoulder was goose shit. Thanks God!!
I also wanted to add a pic of the house that Jeremy and I pay $125 a month to rent. Cheap but ugly!!

Baby Jude

I absolutly adore my new nephew, Jude Matthew. When I found out that he was on the way I wanted to do something special for him. So I started this quilt. I loved this pattern the minute I saw it and knew it was for him.
I is soft and cuddly so I hope he uses it often. This pic is when the quilt was almost done. It was finished of with cream silk blankent binding. I loved making this quilt so much and I hope I get to make another one soon, maybe for a girl next time!

Here a just a few of pics from our trip to the Southwest.
We had such a great time exploring this region of our nation. Indians, buffalo, mountains and much more. If you have never been to see the Grand Canyon, you need to go!!

We started out in Durango, CO --Aztec, NM -- Shiprock -- Gallup (old rt. 66)-- Flagstaff, AZ --Grand Canyon Nat'l Park -- Bryce Canyon, UT -- Salt Lake City -- Park City (host to olympic games) -- Lava Hot Springs,ID (sat in really hot mineral springs).

Evening of Creativity

Last night I was up to my ears in creativity. I made a wallet out of an antique postcard (notice it is from Kansas). I also made this cute "petal purse". I use it for my business cards which are made by stitching a wallet photo of a bag to the business card!

And for my latest creative endevour ... felting. It is like painting and sculpting with loose fiber instead of paint and clay. I picked up a book called complete felting and it has a lot of great ideas for the beginner.

Partners in crime, Sylas and Maddy, tore up my living room when I was in my sewing room for 30 min. Of course when I come in the room they are both chewing innocently on the rawhide stick, one at each end.

Here are some coin purses and a little girls purse(sorry for rotation). I am so exited about this new line of fabrics by Amy Butler, and now another by Joel somebody. I need to get started on my sister's, Vikkie, purse. Sorry lady!! I designed the purse on the right for a little girl and she loved it. SO REWARDING. I can't wait to get back to my machine!!

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

My best friend, Ollie (my dog), died Saturday. She was hit on our road in the country and now she is in heaven with my beloved daughter Jentry. We buried her in the pasture behind our house in a little cove. I covered her with a colorful linen and Jeremy thanked God for our time with her. She was also 3 weeks pregnant so we mourn the loss of her puppies as well.

Then we said hello to Sylas & Maddy, named after a mom and pop's ice cream shop in Lawrence, KS. They are full sisters and were born May 2. They are a cross between a Bishon and a Cocker Spaniel (Cockashon). Here are some pics.

Well, this is my first blog. My muse and sister, Vikkie J Wiese,has inspired me to start blogging. I have dedicated my site as a creative outlet. I am in fact a "jackie of all trades, master of none."

Recently I have started sewing bags of all kinds. I love Angry Ckicken's blogspot and she has a new book out called "Bend the Rules of Sewing." LOVE LOVE!! As soon as I figure how to download pics I will show you all.
